Business & Administration (BASC)

The Business and Administration Services Committee’s (BASC) mission is to improve business support to local school districts and county offices of education. Business support services are designed to enhance local classroom education by providing leadership to local educational agencies in developing and implementing sound business and management practices to strengthen financial accountability, program operations and administrative support services.

SUB COMMITTEES

  • COUNTY OFFICE FINANCE SUBCOMMITTEE (COFS)

    The mission of the County Office Finance Subcommittee is to review issues and problems concerned with fiscal responsibilities and funding for county offices of education (COEs) and to recommend to the Business and Administration Services Committee (BASC), solutions which may include legislation or other action necessary to accomplish the CA County Superintendents’ goals.

  • EXTERNAL SERVICES SUBCOMMITTEE (ESSCO)

    The External Services Subcommittee (ESSCO) operates under the auspices of the Business and Administration Services Committee (BASC). The mission of the ESSCO is to review business and financial issues affecting school districts and charter schools and to identify, as appropriate, improvements in support services to school districts. This committee is jointly chaired by one County Office of Education employee and one representative from the California Department of Education.

  • FACILITY SUBCOMMITTEE OF COUNTY OFFICES (FSCO)

    The mission of the Facility Subcommittee of County Offices is to identify various facility related issues affecting county offices of education and recommend to the Business and Administration Services Committee (BASC) solutions which may include legislation or other action necessary to accomplish the CA County Superintendents’ goals.
